Industry Councils

The St. Louis Fed's four industry councils were created in 2006, and each council represents a specific industry that is critical to the Federal Reserve's Eighth District. The councils are designed to build a consistent and dependable line of communication about economic conditions between St. Louis Fed staff members and industry representatives throughout the District. The council members' observations complement the data and information developed through the Federal Reserve's Beige Book, the St. Louis Fed's Burgundy Books and meetings of the Reserve Bank's boards of directors.

Each council is based in one of the St. Louis Fed's four offices: Little Rock, Ark. (agribusiness), Louisville, Ky. (health care), Memphis, Tenn. (transportation) and St. Louis (real estate). The councils meet twice a year.
