There is a lot of bank financial information available to you over the Internet. Two helpful sites in particular are the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) and the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC). From these sites, you can obtain a copy of the Report of Condition and Income, also known as the Call Report, or a Uniform Bank Performance Report (UBPR), respectively. You may want to print the directions below for reference the first time you search for a bank report. Obtain a Call Report from the FDIC web site
Using this Internet address, http://www.kansascityfed.org/bankdirect/, go to Resources for Bank Directors. Click on "Data Resources" and select Report of Condition and Income.
After you look at the balance sheet and income statement, you might look at some of the other information listed. Even if some of the statements are unfamiliar, the FDIC site serves as a good example of the extensive amount of information available on the Internet.
Using this Internet address, http://www.ffiec.gov/default.htm, go to the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC) Web site. After you have obtained a copy of your bank's UBPR, consider the Try This at Your Bank exercise: Review Your Bank's UBPR for some helpful analysis questions.
