Details: Whether you are teaching personal finance for the first time or you have been teaching it for awhile, join us for this one-day conference that covers all the basics. You’ll get it all: content, materials and classroom activities!
Federal Reserve Bank economist Michael Owyang will offer three presentations:

The Time Value of Money | Risk and Return | Investment Horizons
- Understanding Assets
Stocks | Bonds | Portfolios
- Understanding Liabilities
Mortgages | Credit Cards | Payday Loans
SIUE and UMSL staff, as well as members of the St. Louis Fed’s Teacher Advisory Board, will demonstrate hands-on lessons and activities for teaching personal finance. The Fed will provide CDs, print publications, a bibliography and more for classroom use.
Attire is business casual. All teachers are welcome, but classroom applications are geared to grades 5-12. Continental breakfast will be served at 8 a.m. and lunch is provided. The program will adjourn at 3 p.m.
