Essay Contest Overview

Many times, the best economic lessons are found outside your classrooms, and if you observe what goes on around you, you can learn about economics.

The Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis and its Little Rock, Louisville and Memphis branches sponsor an essay contest each year for 9th- through 12th-grade students.

Awards

Each of the four offices judges the essays in its area and awards savings bonds for the top four essays.

First Prize $500 Savings Bond
Second Prize $300 Savings Bond
Third Prize $200 Savings Bond
Fourth Prize $100 Savings Bond

A recognition event for the four winning essayists is held by each office.

In addition, all students who enter the contest will receive a certificate of participation.
