St. Louis Fed’s Louisville Branch to Host Regional Economic Update

ST. LOUIS – The Louisville Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis will host a Regional Economic Briefing on May 19 in Bowling Green, Ky.

Business leaders, educators, community development practitioners and others interested in the economy are invited to attend and learn about the region’s economic conditions. This year's spotlight will be on economic drivers and Kentucky's automotive industry.

The speakers include:

  • Kevin Kliesen, St. Louis Fed research officer and business economist, who will discuss national economic conditions;
  • Charles Gascon, St. Louis Fed regional economist, who will provide an overview of the region’s economic drivers, including the automotive sector; and
  • David Tatman, executive director of the Kentucky Automotive Industry Association and former plant manager of the Corvette assembly plant in Bowling Green, who will give an inside look at the industry.

A complimentary buffet breakfast will be served. The event is free, but registration is required and can be found online. The registration deadline is noon on May 16.
