St. Louis Fed Announces 2019-2020 Student Board of Directors

ST. LOUIS ‑‑ The Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis proudly announces the 2019-2020 members of its student board of directors:

High school seniors from across the greater St. Louis area are selected to serve on the Board based on a competitive application process, which includes an essay and letters of recommendation. Students meet monthly at the St. Louis Fed and gain a thorough understanding of the Federal Reserve's role in the U.S. economy and experience its unique partnerships with banks, businesses and the community.

Mary Suiter, assistant vice president and economic education officer at the St. Louis Fed, said: “These high school students are able to engage with Fed employees while learning about their careers and what the Fed does. Students gain knowledge and develop soft skills, both of which help them prepare for college and careers. They also serve as ambassadors for the Fed and highlight the importance of economic education at their schools.”
