The following is a Federal Reserve System proposal currently out for comment:

Request for comment on proposed consumer protection rules for the sale of insurance products by depository institutions or by any person who is engaged in such activities at an office of the institution or on behalf of the institution. The rules include specific provisions relating to sales practices; disclosures and advertising; the physical separation of banking and nonbanking activities, and domestic violence discrimination. Comments due Oct. 5, 2000. (Docket No. R-1079)
