Federal Reserve Blackout Periods

Federal Reserve policy limits the extent to which FOMC participants and staff can speak publicly or grant interviews during Federal Reserve blackout periods, which begin the second Saturday preceding a Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting and end the Thursday following a meeting unless otherwise noted.

Blackout dates are as follows.

2025 Federal Reserve Blackout Periods

  • Saturday, January 18 – Thursday, January 30
  • Saturday, March 8 – Thursday, March 20
  • Saturday, April 26 – Thursday, May 8
  • Saturday, June 7 – Thursday, June 19
  • Saturday, July 19 – Thursday, July 31
  • Saturday, September 6 – Thursday, September 18
  • Saturday, October 18 – Thursday, October 30
  • Saturday, November 29 – Thursday, December 11
